2010 GMC Terrain SUV with Brawny Looks and new 2.4L Engine Previewed Before NY Show
As with the Equinox, the Terrain will be offered with two powertrains, a new, 2.4-liter direct injection four-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower that delivers an estimated 30 mpg highway, 21 mpg city (EPA certification pending) and a 3.0-liter direct injected V6 engine with 264 horsepower that returns an estimated 25 mpg highway, 18 mpg city (EPA certification pending). Both are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission and are offered in front- or all-wheel drive versions. The 2010 Terrain will hit GMC dealerships in late summer and will be available in SLE and SLT trim levels. source: http://carscoop.blogspot.comThis is GMC's all-new 2010 Terrain five-passenger SUV that was revealed a few days ahead of its scheduled public debut at the New York Auto Show on April 9. The first thing that captures your attention on GMC's compact SUV is its in-yer-face design with its bold grille, muscular fender flares and squared looks setting it apart from the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox with which it shares just about everything aside from the exterior styling.
While it won't win any beauty contests, the Terrain's rugged styling will most likely have a certain appeal to SUV buyers though we must say its rear-end styling looks like an addition of the last moment. Inside, the differences between the Terrain and the Chevy Equinox are much less evident and concern details like the door panels and trim options.
NY Show Preview: GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid with 21MPG
Docherty also said the number one consideration for those purchasing the GMC Yukon Hybrid is fuel economy (80 percent), followed by 66 percent for its environmentally friendly technologies and more than half because of its technological innovation. We hope that Doherty is referring to those who have already decided to purchase a Yukon and not buyers in general... Prices for the 2009 Yukon Denali Hybrid start at $59,185 for the 2WD model and $62,030 for the 4WD version, including the destination freight charge of $950. Buyers may also be eligible for a tax credit of up to $2,200. source: http://carscoop.blogspot.comGM is adding yet another 'politically correct' full-size SUV with a hybrid powertrain to its model portfolio. The new 2009 GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid will its world debut at the 2009 New York International Auto Show with sales set to commence in May. The eight passenger SUV features GM's 2-mode hybrid system that combines a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine producing 332-horsepower and 367 lb.-ft. (498Nm) of torque with two-electric motors packaged in the transmission.
GM claims that the Yukon Denali Hybrid (2WD) returns an estimated 21mpg city (11.2lt / 100km) and 22mpg highway (10.7lt / 100km). "The eight-passenger GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid goes just as far on a gallon of gas in the city as a much smaller, V-6 Toyota Camry sedan," said Susan Docherty, vice president, Buick-Pontiac-GMC. "And in terms of fuel savings, the GMC Yukon Denali saves about 250 gallons of fuel a year over the Lexus GX 470."

During the weekend, GM's GMC unit threw off the covers its all-new 2010 Terrain compact SUV that will be making its first public debut at this week's New York Show. Though decisively different in terms of styling, the Terrain is in essence the rugged alter ego of the also new 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. Set to go on sale this summer, the Terrain will offer buyers the choice of two petrol engines, a 30mpg (highway) and 182HP 2.4-liter four-pot and a rang-topping 264HP 3.0-liter V6 that delivers an estimated 25mpg on the highway.

[New] GMC Terrain 2009
