As with the Equinox, the Terrain will be offered with two powertrains, a new, 2.4-liter direct injection four-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower that delivers an estimated 30 mpg highway, 21 mpg city (EPA certification pending) and a 3.0-liter direct injected V6 engine with 264 horsepower that returns an estimated 25 mpg highway, 18 mpg city (EPA certification pending). Both are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission and are offered in front- or all-wheel drive versions. The 2010 Terrain will hit GMC dealerships in late summer and will be available in SLE and SLT trim levels. source: http://carscoop.blogspot.comThis is GMC's all-new 2010 Terrain five-passenger SUV that was revealed a few days ahead of its scheduled public debut at the New York Auto Show on April 9. The first thing that captures your attention on GMC's compact SUV is its in-yer-face design with its bold grille, muscular fender flares and squared looks setting it apart from the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox with which it shares just about everything aside from the exterior styling.
While it won't win any beauty contests, the Terrain's rugged styling will most likely have a certain appeal to SUV buyers though we must say its rear-end styling looks like an addition of the last moment. Inside, the differences between the Terrain and the Chevy Equinox are much less evident and concern details like the door panels and trim options.

Video: 2010 GMC Terrain SUV in, out and around
During the weekend, GM's GMC unit threw off the covers its all-new 2010 Terrain compact SUV that will be making its first public debut at this week's New York Show. Though decisively different in terms of styling, the Terrain is in essence the rugged alter ego of the also new 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. Set to go on sale this summer, the Terrain will offer buyers the choice of two petrol engines, a 30mpg (highway) and 182HP 2.4-liter four-pot and a rang-topping 264HP 3.0-liter V6 that delivers an estimated 25mpg on the highway.
