Audi TTS gets a power boost from Mcchip

Not satisfied with the 272 horsepower from the new Audi TTS's 2.0-liter TSI engine? No need to worry as yet another German tuner has come up with a solution for all you power hungry drivers. Thanks to Mcchip's ECU upgrades, the 2.0 TSI receives a 43 horsepower bump as well as an additional 90Nm of torque for a total output of 315HP and 440Nm of torque. The ECU tuning which costs €849, allows the TTS to achieve an unrestricted top speed of 275km/h or 171mph.

Aside from the power boost to power, Mcchip also offers to upgrade the TTS with a set of blacked out 19-inch O.Z. alloy wheels wrapped in low profile 235/35 R19 Continental "SportContact3" tires for a total cost of €2,990.

MTM Turns the Audi TT S into an RS Hunter

As much as automakers would like to cover the needs of all their buyers, tuners like MTM will always find a vacant niche in a model's range to work upon. We thought that Audi had covered its clientele with the 270HP TT S and the recently revealed 340HP TT RS, but according to MTM, there are people out there who would like nothing more than to upgrade the basic TT S to 330 or 380HP.

The price for a complete conversion including the cost of a new TT S is €73,715 for the 380HP variant and €63,103 for the less powerful 330HP model. In both cases, aside from the modified 2.0-liter TFSI engine, MTM adds several other goodies like a Brembo brake system, 20-inch alloy wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 245/30 ZR 20 tires, a lowering kit and a rear spoiler.

Audi TT Roadster Downsizes to 1.8 TFSI with 160HP

Let's face it; a substantial number of buyers in the roadster segment are more concerned about their car's looks (and how they look inside it...) than anything else - performance included. That said, Audi's move to downsize and offer a new 1.8-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 160HP on the TT Roadster makes total sense. Priced at £23,910 OTR, and due with its first UK customers in April, the new entry-level TT slots into the range just below the existing 2.0 TFSI model costing £27,355.

The turbocharged and directly injected 1.8-litre TFSI unit is linked to a six-speed manual transmission launching the TT Roadster 1.8 TFSI to 62mph (100km/h) in 7.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 139mph or 224km/h with a combined fuel consumption figure of 40.9mpg UK (6.9 lt/100km or 34.0mpg US), equating to CO3 output of 159g/km.
